Mr Rounding, representative of tho Canadian Pacific Bailway, in the course of an interview,- said that the extension of the railway to San j'ranojsco was not considered necessary, If their proposals were entertained, the Canadian Company would find little difficulty in obtaining suitable vessels,. They were now having throe steamers of SOOO tons burden each built, which will be finished in October. Melbourne, March 20. Mr Rusdeu has presented the sum of £BOOO by way of endowniont to the Bishop of Melbourne's fund, and St Paul's Cathedral.
