• Extensive FireAuckland, Saturday. A destructive lire occurred at Cambridge this morning. It is was first discovered at four o'clock at Bate's saddlery shop, Duke-street, and spread rapidly in both directions completely gutting the right-hand side from, and including Ward's ohemist to Bucklancl's Horso Bazaar. The following business places were destroyed:, Bites, saddler, Riley, tajfe, Keesing (unoccupied), Sargent jeweller, Kinoaid's store, Goldor wathmaker, Bond stationer, Pearce fruiterer, MoNish billiard saloon, Cox grocer, Neal seedsman,. Huge hairdresser, Offices late P. A. Whitaker, Auckland Horso Bazaar, and several private dwellings at the rear of the block. .The loss is very heavy. The Masonio Hotel is scorched but saved.
