Mr Gillies denies that he wishes to act as the mouthpiece of the Australian colonies, and states that he merely replied to a communication received from Canada. He in return accuses Mr Dibbs, Premier of New South Wales, of suggesting Sydney as the meeting place before the colonies have decided that it is necessary to hold a conference at all.
