The South Wairarapa men followed with 00, which placed them 20 to the good. H. Fry topped the score, but J. Tocker materially added to the score by stealing ut lot of extras In the 'second innings the Masterton men treated tbeir opponents to a considerable amount of leather hunting, and Mathiaa and Perry getting together they took the scoie from 45 to 172, when the latter was taken by the wickotkeeper. Matbiasiwiowly missed the "century," his score standing at 94 when lie was unlucky enough to play the ball on to his stumps. J. Cundy did the hat trick in; this innings.. In their second attempt the Lower Wairarapa men made no stand at all and the innings ended for 86. Iggulden and Perry bowled well right through. Tho following are the scores:

The championship match between these teams was commenced at Carterton ou Saturday, The Carterton men batted first, but tlie bowling of Hawke, G. Welch, and Bichards proved too good for the'ui and the score only reached 84. The Stars, who were two men short, then went in and made 79. A. Bichards, 41 (not out), hatted splendidly. Holford 18 was the next highest. In the second innings the Carterton men madeamuoh better stand and ran the. soore to 88 for five wickets. Darroch (not out) 35, W. G.,King 16, and AlcKenzie 12j were the highest scorers. The match is to be continued at Carterton next Saturday, but we understand the Stars will have a difficulty in getting a team to go down.
