Auckland, January 16. • At a mcetiug of Volunteer and Imperial OHicors hold last night, Colonel Shepherd presiding, it was resolved to form a Naval and Military Institute at Auckland. The Te Kooti Scare. Gisboiine, Monday. There is an intense feeling amongst the country settlers. A meeting will be held this morning, when it is expected three hundred armed settlers will be enrolled to prevent Te Kooti reaching the meeting place. The leading settlers are heading the movement. Te Kooti is expected here on Tuesday, and it is fearee 1 , unless the Government give absolute orders to Te Kooti, great trouble may arise,
