Auckland, Saturday, Hyde, who was wounded during a quarrel at- ToAroba, is in the Hospital in a critical state, In his deposition taken he admits trying to kick Wood and the latter struck behind him l with a stick, whioh entered Hyde's face between the nose aiid eyo. The wound reaches the base of the brain.
