Messrs Lowes and loms report'at; thoir stock' salo .'.yesterday, their entries comprised 6000 sheep of all classes, being 8000 more than were advertised, all finding purchasers; the rates being equal to those of last sales, Heavy .wethers 9s Od to 9s •■■ 7d; medium weights, 9s; forward and stores, 8s toßs Gd; fat ewes,, 7s; medium 6s to 6s 6; stores, 5s Gd • to 6s; breeding ewes according'to quality and ages'ranged from 2s Gd to 6s fid: Merinos, Is 4d to 2s lis; lambs, good, 5s to 5s Cd; medium, I 3s Gd to 4s; culls, 2s to2sGd. In. cattle the entries were limited an? prices low. Beef made 12s Gd; store : steers, small, L2los; yearlings and calves, 15s to 255; store cows, 80s to 85s. Horses were in great force but mostly of. an. inferior class, old animals making from 80s to 40s; medium and fairliacks, 18 to LO.' Pigs—small, 6s; stores 125..;'
■ Wednesday. Freeman E, Jackson and Co.'s Johnsonvillo Stock Report.-Oattle came forward in. rather more than average' supply, the numbers being. about equally divided between bullocks and cows. Both lots were good beasts, and met with ready sale. Sheep pens' contained a moderate entry. Tho' mutton was. good throughout, and sold at late rates, the heavier wethers perhaps being a shade under., The first of the season's shorn lambs caiiie to hand, and were of a good description. ■■.No pigs were entered. Ox beef- made 13s the lOOlbs; cow beef, 10s to lis; wether mutton, lfd; and ewo mutton, ljd per lb. Cattle—Bullocks, £5 to £5 ss, averaging £5 2s 3d; a line of small bullocks, 1410s to £5 2s 6d, averaging' £4 15s .4(1; cows, £2lss to 1317s fid, averaging £3 ss. Sheep-Priino wethers, ,10s to lis; lighter weight, 8s 6d to 9s Cd; ewes, 8s to 8s Cd; shorn lambs, as 8d to 5s ■ 9d.. Horses—Unbroken draught colts and fillies, £8 5s to £1210s; liaoks,£4,7s6d; express" mares, £lO 7s Gd.
.Wammnui, Wednesday. ; F. R. Jackson's ram fair begau today and was well attended. and a great success. 910 rams as well as 'IOO ewes were in the yards. The bidding was rery spirited and good prices were realised all through. The : highest prices were obtained by J.I B, Sutton, Riverton, Southland, for six purebred stud rams, two-toothed Lincolns, which fetched 2<l|,' 25,25, 25, 27, and 84 guineas each. ;W. Wilson, of Whemainakura, obtainotl 20| and 18 guineas for two two-, tooth Lincolns, The sale continues tomorrow..
