In view of the approaching general olection, the.farmers of Victoria have prepared a manifesto urging the imposition of an ad valorem duty of 25 per cent on imported live stock and dead meat without anydrawbacks, a duty of 8s per cental on imported cereals, peas and maize, £1 per ton on potatoes, 'id per Jb on. imported butter, cheese and bacon, a bounty for exported wheat, fixed on a sliding scale, and bonuses to encourage vino culture and fruit growing, Hobabt, February 7.
