Miraculous Escape.
Inveroakgill, February L Tho escape of tho little boy, David Small, who fell asleep between the rails at Lumsden, on Saturday, and was run over by a train of 24 vehicles was a miraculous one, and probably due to tho presence of mind of the driver, who, on seeing the sleeping child, wisoly refrained from blowing I the brakes' whistle, knowing that there was not room to pull up on the down grade, and it was likely that if tho whistle was blown the child would have lifted his head and teen killed, is it was, the cow-catcher dragged and rolled hirn about twenty-two yards before he slipped under. He is not severely hurt, buthas lost one of his great toe nails, and a slight shaving of bone from the' crown', of his head, apparently cut by the flanges of the wheels, It shows what a miraculous escape he had.
