Castlepoint Road Board.
A meeting of the Board was held on Saturday last. Present—Messrs : J. F. Maunsell (chairman),.Langdon, Andrew and Elder. The.minutes of ■ jthe previous meeting were read and confirmed.' Tho Treasurer reported balance in Bank £232 2s lid, and amount for expenditure £23118s 9d. Correspondence was read from Mr J. Cross, agreeing to supplement the £2 voted by • the Bbard.-From Mr Nevins, applying for a grant towards altering the courso of the Whareama river near the. Anniedale Woolshed ; from Publio Works Office re departmental work in connection with road undertakings to be performed by the Crown Lands Department in future; from Whareama Road Board, re wages paid to surface men; from Mastei'ton Road Board, re wages paid to surface men; from Upper Taiieru Road Board, re wages paid to surface men; from Mr.Rawson, with account 10s, expenses coming to survoyroad. The following tenders for fencing tho road to Rewe Rowe were opened:—S. Kingsbory, £llO for 180. chains fencing; J. Cameron; £109155-J, Duffy, £122 9s 6d ; ;W. Williams, £124; J. .Pickett, £l3l 10s; H. Newcome, £flß. Resolved, That Mr Nevins; be informed that there are no funds for the changes suggested, in his letter 61 the 13th inst,; That the Chairman be authorised.to arrange with Messrs Langdon for the land required for the Rewe Rewe road.
