Commercial.
Mr F. H. Wood held his usual fortnightly stock sale at tlio Taratahi yards yesterday. There was a large attendance of buyers, Hie demand for sheep being good, but little inquiry for cattle. Several lots of tho latter were passed in, whilst'ali the sheep sold at prices slightly in advance of last sale, ruling as under:-Culled ewes 4s 8d to ss; forward owos Cs 9d; store ewes and wethers, mixed, culls, 5s 8d; forward do.Bs Id; lambs, forward and fat 6s 9d; fat ewes 7s Gd. No heavy sheep were yarded, Cattle sold at the lollowing prices:—Two-year-old steers, 82s Gd to 57s Gd; heifers 80s to 42s Gd; calves and yearlings mixed 14s fid; store cows BQ3 lodOs; dairy cows 60s to 90s; small cow beef GOs, A number of horses were sold at prices ranging from £6 to £B' for -light hacks, draughts £9 to £l2.
