Eketahuna Road Board.
An ordinary meeting of this Board was held at the office of the Board on Saturday, the 12th inst. Present Messrs A. Anderson (Chairman), 0. E. Beokman, S. Bacon, M. Neilson, andE. Morris. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, Inward correspondence : From J. Thomasen re one tree felled' on the road line. Fron Colonial Treasurer advising payment of an advance of £6OO on Parkville loan accrued. From Bank New Zealand re lodgment of same. From Mauriceville Road Board requesting this Board to appoint a deputy to confer with a deputy of theirs on a division of the foundries of the districts. 1 From Commissioner of Crown Lands 1 asking for proposal re the expenditure of accrued thirds in Parkville. From E. L. Wakelin asking if he could lease the cemetery reserve for sawmill ' purposes, From Property Tax Commissioner advising passing of 1 vouohev' for 75 per oeut of subsidy. Mr S. Chisholm applied to have the time allowed for the completion of his contract extended three weeks. Granted. Mr F. Hambrook also applied for an extension of two weeks ' on his contract. Granted, Resolved that Mr E. L. Wakelin be informed 1 the Board has no jurisdiction over the cemetery reserve at Mangamahoe. That the Chairman be appointed a 1 deputy to confer with Mauriceville Road Board re revision of boundary,, That the warden for the riding be written to re the erection of a pound, That Mr D, MoLachlan be askod on what terms he laid off a piece of road on the Central Mangaone. That the Colonial Treasurer be applied to , for a loan of £750 for works ontho Mangaone Valley Road, also to complete payment of Parkville Road by Ist of February next. Mr Inspector Haward attended, He had not had time to prepare his report on the works in Parkville, but engaged to have it ready by Wednesday, the 16th instant. He also engaged to have the specifications for the; remaining works in Parkville ready by 28rd inst. On the motion of the Chairm'au,.the Clerk was instructed to prepare a statement of the preliminary work conneoted with the raising of. the Parkville loan. Mr D. Skeeliey attended complaining S. Chisholm had not removed trees at the junction of their contracts previously under the notice of the Board. It was agreed that, the Chairman and Mr Neilsen with the Inspector should meet the contractors to arbitrate. Mr Bacon reported that J. Thompson had removed the' tree from tho road line. Mr E. Morris was allowed £2 to erect a bridge leading to Morris-street, Newman. The letting of contracts for repairs on the Hawera Road was adjourned to the 16th inst, The following tenders were received for 49 chains 21 links of road formation ParkvilleD. MoGill and P. MoBarron £BIO (accepted), P. Mullen i £514 ss, P. Bhauahan £441105, J. i McMillan £BBI 12a 4d, Johnson Bros. £494 Riorden and MoGinly i £46o,'Jenesen and McCormio £528. < The meeting then adjourned, ; 1 '<
