RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Nominations to state' all place performances for the past two years, : 2. The Anniversary Handicap, to be decided by points viz., first place to count five (5) points, 2nd place three (3) points, and third place two (2) points. 3. In all races and competitions tlireo to start or no second prize will be given, and in the evont of special prizes being given, they will take the place of second money.

4. All protests if any must be lodged with tho Secretary in writing not laior than 15 minutes after the close of the race or competition; 5. In the event of any competitor making a false start ho shall be placed one yard behind his previous mark for each false start he makes. 6. The decision of the Committee in all caseß shall be final. 7. In tho event of a walkover in any of tho competitions onehalf of the stakes will be awarded. 8. The Committee shall have power to postpono the sports to any date they think fit, in event of wet weather, or and other unforseeu circumstance, Nominations close with the Secretary, at the Empire Store, Carterton, on FRIDAY, 11th January, and the handicaps will bo published on Tuesday, tho 15th, in the Waikabapa Daii.y. , Acceptances close on FEIDAY, the 18th. , A.
