Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.
The ordintry monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Saturday 'last. Present—Messrs H. R. Bunny-(Chairman), E. W.Dorset, W. Parkor, J. Ray nor, H. Mthwaite, J, Stevens, and B. Morgan. The micutea of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. : The Treasurer reported a credit balance to the Government Loan account of £l3O, and to the ordinary account £1216s Bd. • Correspondence was read from Mr W. Gosling, asking permission to use Joseph and Phillips' Lino for grazing purposes,—Resolved that the request could not be entertained. From Mr Gower, of Kakern, asking, to have about one and a-half acres of bush fell, adjoining that which ho is now felling.— Resolved that he.be empowered to get the work done at tho same price that he is giving, viz., 27s 6d per acre..' From the Chief Surveyor for. information respecting a piece of road at the lower end of Dalefield.- The Clerk was instructed to give ,the desired information. Prom. Mr F. Moore, asking to be allowed to put another man on to the work oh the East Coast Eoad.fiesolved that it be left to the

The crossing of the .ford at the Waiobine Riverhavine;. been washed away, Mr Jones asked to be compensated; for allowing traffic through his properly. The Warden stated that it was only about two and a-balf chains from the old ford to the present one, and that it would be cheaper' to fence than, to pay,: to .go through another mail's land-The Warden was authorised to get it fenced, Th'e.Board decided to' allow a rtan to be employed in''repairing Mofia(t's Line, and also NkVLine. . ', Tenders 'were'.;, opened for fifty ohainsiof,formation and metalline Brooklyn Road,. but as the: lowest tende/.exceeded the estimated coat, it was resolved that fresh tenders be called for-the job, - The tender for 64 chains of metalline on Hughes'.
