' At the breakup', of tl)e TojpftWP, High Suiioiil \ml wpfiV, Jho workshop, (says the Bruce KeralJ) was tl)o centre of atttaction to visitors both before and a/tiar the meeting, and the yarpentry work exhibited showed a distinct advance upon the work of former years. ; Among the articles manufactured by the buys were cheats of drawors, picture frnraos, whatnots, musiq stands, and letter racks, One noticeable bit of work was a picture Bland catved in imitation ot a Dutch galleon, Some of the work was rather wanting jn|jnish, but taking it altogether it was a grand exhibition of what boys can accomplish if they can be- persuaded to take ah interest in, such things, and get a competent director', ; Among tho new appliances is iatho, manufactured by the rector, tlie'ironwork .being purchased, in the course of an address to the' parents, the Rev.' James Ohisolm'said;—" It was a grand thing that there were classes for manual train, ing. He thought it tended to break down tho notion, which was fur too preyalept/that it is not genteel to use one's hands, £or his pwti part, fie could never see the difference between mini the pen and the spade.
