CRICKET.
On Saturday afternoon a match was played between the Municipal Fire Brigade and the Star Cricket Club,, and ended in a win for the latter by four runs on tho first, innings, the totals being 42 and 46 respectively, For the Brigade Holford was the only oue to get into double figures, maling eighteen by hard hitting. A. Welch 14 and W.Welch 11 were the largest contributors to. the Star score. In the second innings the Brigado had five Wickets down for 72, towards which McKenzie contributed 87. McKenzin and Hawke did all the bowling for the Brigade, Jackson, Welch, Richards, Perry and Pond handling the leather for the Stars. The following are the scores;
