A young lady named Louisa Emily Edwards ■ was drowned yesterday afternoon in;'{he/river at-.Wairoa Gorge, while bathing with her companion, Miss Best. The latter got out of her depth and called for, assistance.'- Miss Edwards attempted to rescue her, and" Was drowned. Miss Best got out ofthe hole and went for .
