Cr Beethan. was olected to roprosont tho Council on the District Hoard akitio raaav. Cr Handyside said the last Hood had -opened a new mouth in the tio Eivor and the sea came hi and qd the road away. The Gear Coy wore bringing sheep through and • they had to cross at a different place through his property. He moved that the Engineer be instructed to go up and inspect tho Akilio ford and take what necessary steps were, required to restore it, Ho thought a bridge would be required. The Chairman said that it would bo necessary to obtain monoy under the Loans to Local Bodies and striko a rate over a given area if a bridge had to bo built. Cr Handysidp said that a toll could bo put on and that would help to pay tho interest. Tho Gear Coy. had made arrangements to cross 10,000 L sheep at Oahauga Ferry, and there was tho wool traffic. Ho added to his resolution that the Engineer bo instructed to report ifjjfttho necessity of a bridge, an J its probable cost. Cr Meredith seconded tho resolution which was carried, . TENDERS. The following tenders for surveying and pegging road frontages through Eketahuna township wero dealt with:—A. J. Eawson (accepted) £25. Declined-C. E. 0. Smith £2O; Jno. King £29 17s; C, P. Frasi £BS; W. G. Hayward £45105. The meeting then adjourned.
