The first.series of wool sales opened this aftornoon, when 1125 bales were offered. The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, the National Mortgage ami Agency G'ompauy, and the Fanners' Co-operative Association sold.. Halted wool fetched BJd to 95-Bth of a penny per lb; merino, best, Bjd to !)Jd; locks anil pieces 4|d to (i|d, The highest prico was 9§d, realized for, lirst-class wool grown at Chertsoy. Competition was spirited, and prices wore a penny per lb better than last year's opening sales,
