Education .Hoard, Wellington, October 81,1888. rpHE examination for the twentyX. sevoa Scholarships offered by tho Wellington Education Board will be held simultaneously at tho Greytowu School and in the Terrace School, on WEDNESDAY, the 28th Noveinbor, at 10 a.m The scholarships are tenable for two years, from Ist January, 1889, open to all children under 15 years of ago at the dato of examination, attending any school established or constituted under the provisions of the Education Aot, 1877 and subject to tho control and management of the Board.

Tho Scholarships, will bo distributed as follows:—18 Scholarships, of the annual vahio of 115, open to' any children attending schools within the City of Wellington and Borough of Melrose; 5 Scholarships of tho annual value of £3O, open to any children attending Schools within the Wairarapa District; and four Scholarships of the annual value of £3O, open to any children attending Schools within the Wellington Country Districts, These Scholarships are given subjoct to diligonce and good conduct on tho part of the Scholars, The successful competitor for any such Scholarships shall receive tho amount of his or her Scholarship only no long as he or aho shall centinuo his or her education at any school or educational institution approved of by tho Board, at which tho higher branches of education are taught.
