Tius.programme of the Municipal Brigade Sports, which could not be carried out in its entirety on the Prince of Wales' Birthday, was concluded on Saturday last on. tho Park Oval, The attendance was. very good considering it was iiot a holiday some 250 to 800 persons being present, Au addition was'made to the list of events which proved a great attraction viz. a wrestliug .match, Cumberland style, for A'2 a-side, The only competitors were Kanby and Simeon, best three out of live. Contrary to the expectations of many the Maori'proved victorious, bis staying power' being evidently greater than his opponents. The Maoris had every confidence iu their champion, and he did not disappoint them, Thq result • was received with, considerable oheering, The first event on tho programme was 100 yards handicap, five entries, J. Banby (jyds Ist, F, Bacon 6yds 2nd, JV Johnston syds Brd, B, Thompson scratch and W. Thompson 18yds.
