THE CHURCH SQUABBLE.

V [TOTHE EDITOR.] ' \ Sir,—Bath papers are treating us to low; leading articles on the recent Parish squabblo forgetting that'the matter can be of little or no interest to the majority of their readers, but times being dull, editors, I suppose, must find something to write about. It is a miserable'affair to.say the least of it, arid to me, as an outsider, seems to lay in a nutshell., A. certain well-to-do portion of the community, deeming it necessary for their own particular good, to ran a ohurch, and a minister, do so, but owing'to the n)isuianngeaient, extravagance, or circumstances over which they have no control, Gnd themselves in debt to the time of £l5O, Now, as they are all well to do people, the majority of them drawing large salaries, £l5O among them would be a mere flea bite, why, instead of sqabblingand washing their dirty liuen in public, don't they make up the amount and start afresh? It they don't feel disposed (it is not a question of afford) to have a three hundred pound parson, let them go in for a cheaper one. Tdaresay they could get any amount to give them two sermons. a week, aud visit three houses in a buggy for £2OO a year and'even less. Everything would then' go along serenely and tbey would be ablo to play lawn tennis between the services with a clear conscience. Yours &c, Lookeh On,
