Sir James Hannen, President of Times Commission, lias received menacing letters. Sir Charles Kussell states that several such letters have been sent him since tho proceedings of the Commission have opened.
Two witnesses, ex-moonlighters and members of the Land and National League, swore to-day that when they joined the organisations, the perpetration of outrages was discussed, and the plans were laid for shooting landlords, They also stated that sheep, tho property of farmers obnoxious to thorn, had been destroyed, and that they were quito ready to commit murders if so ordered,
Upon Sir Charles Russell attempting to show that the witnesses were Fenians, they declared that Leaguers and Fenians were identical.
Ono of these witnesses swore that the Secretary of ono of the Societies compelled him to swoar.allegiance to the Irish Republic. ■ Tallow is advancing in price owing to a French syudicato arranging ;to buy up available stocks. Tho 11.M.5. Kaikoura arrived at Plymouth to-day. All well. Her frozen meat is reported in good condition.
