Sanitary Troubles.
Auckland, Tuesday. . The City Council is threatened with- trouble over the nightsoil question. Being debarred from depositing matter at Port Chevalier, the contractor has been Bending, to Avbndalo and Mount Albert, but the Road Hoards of those respective districts are taking steps to stop the practice. The Avoiidale Board threaten to prosecute land owners who allow the offensive mktter to be deposited on their land. Mr Devore, Mayor of Auckland, who just'returned from an Australian tour, has collected a lot of information on the subject of the disposal of nightsoil, etc., which maybe very useful if the Council have to alter the existing arrangements, '

Hastings Borough"Council in which plaiutiff Bought recovery of eight guineas to Borough funds being cost of portrait of ex-Mayor Wellwood, .paid by the Counil and disallowed by the Auditor Generall'' The defendant corporation claimed the portrait was Council Chamber furniture.
