At a meeting of the Exhibition Committee it was decided to float a compahy with a capital of £IO,OOO in £1 Bhares. A strong directorate was formed, Mr D, Horace Hastings being appointed Secretary. Over 1500 shares were subscribed for. in the room, It was decided that the question of making the Exhibition colonial or intercolonial should be left to tho majority of shareholders, but if it is to tie'intercolonial another JS7OO wan promised. .John Roberts (Murray, Roberta & Co), president of the Chamber of Commerce, was appointed chairman, Those present included the city M.H R.'s and. representatives of the leading houses in towu. ; The opinion is that, now tbe mHtter has been taken up, the exhibition will tab place, and, as a good many promises liave been received from other provincial districts, itß success, so far as oxhiMtg-are concerned,is at. assured fact;
