It was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Morgan, seconded by Mr Rayner, That notice be given rmt in the local paper that all rates un- ■< paid aften two weeks from ; . date, be :v. Bued for without delay. { Perry Bros; y. jv wrote askingthe Board to erect the : > requisite gate on Carawell's road, and • y. shift the strainers where they cross the wire fence. Moved by the Chairman, seconded by Mr that as the Board'has carried out' their Engagement with Messrs Perry Bros, in-reference to the road, the Board , does not consider themselves j'usti- ; fied in acceding to the application.— : Carried,' Mr Skey wrote in reference to lands taken by the Board for a road, and asking to be remunerated. This matter . ..caused a good deal , discussion, and it was ultimately ; resolved'that notice.which bad. been given to Mr Skey and others, re the. opening' of Woodland road to: the - East Taratahi road be rescinded, A. 1 letter was read from the Property Tax Uommissioner,-re Crowfiand Natiye ' • Lands, stating that all rates collected' on these lands must be spent on the.... road leading to the same. A petition ■ was received from residents on Belvedere, asking that the road be con- • , tinued from Brooklyn road through their properties. It was suggested • that plans and specifications ue pre-' pared and submitted to the next , meeting, and the petition was ordered to stand over till then. ' H.. Stevens wrote re extra work done in reference to his contract. The Warden explained that he had • been paid-in full for all work done according to specifications, and was in no way entitled to extras. The letter was ordered to be laid on the table, and the Warden was requested to re-measurethe work in conjunction with Mr Derrick. It was resolved that a chain bo purchased for the use of the Board's works. From Mr Channels, enolosing an account for ; • injury to a horse that.he was riding,' through jutting its foot through 1 a culvert near Mr Wyett's on the Taratahi; also from Mr Pownall in reference to the same. The Board resolved to resist- the claim. The following tenders were accepted for 85 chains formation and 55 chains motalling Bristol Boad: Olliver, £7l for the whole. Seventy-five chains, in three sections, Wainuioru 'Eoad, Section ■ 1 and 8; H. Conradsen, £9B 17s fid for the job; andP, Carr, for Section 2, £2 2s (id per chain. A number of accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
