- London, September 1, Information has been received that the missionaries engaged in work in tho neighborhood of Lake Nyassa, Eastern Africa, were recently harassed by Arab slavers and driven from their posts. The forces attached to the missionary camps, under the command of Captain Longard, attacked the slaversj but wore repulsed, and several Europeans and a number of native allies were killed. Captain Longard •himself was wqunded; during the engagement. ■.' ■ September 8. . The information that has been received that the Zulu chief, Dinizulu, had been recaptured by_ : Boers is believed to be incorrect, An official despatch says that he is still at large, but the affairs in Zululand are now peaceful. September 9. The British Trodes Congress, now holding its annual session, urges the exclusion of foreigners from Great Britain who are unable to prove they are capable of earning their livelihood. This resolution is aimed at the "sweating" system, the ovils of which have been so prominently brought forward of la(e, The Congress has negatived a motion in favor of tlio eighteen hours' system.
