Wairarapa Gun Club.

This' Club, which is now one of the most important of its kind in the Colony met at the platform farm on Saturday, The day was a delightful one, and the shooting was in most cases excellent, many difficult shots proving successful. Among the most successful sportsmen were Messrs Buchanan M.H.8., P. F. Tancred, T. and N. Grace, and J. Bidwill. In the first match, a five-bird one, Messrs T. Grace and P. F. Tancred tied for first place, and they elected to divide the stakes, In the second match, a soven-bird one, Mr Buchanan shot every bird but one, securing first honors. Messis J. Bidwill N. Grace, Tancred, and T. Grace with five each tied twice, but at the third attempt, Mr Tancred haviDg shot every bird secured second place. First match—Fivo Birds,

Mr Kimberley, of the Platform Farm welcomed the visitors in his usual genial manner. The refereo,Mr E. R. Jones, was at his post, and carried out his duties with his known ability, Mr O. Higgins, the Secretary, was also in his place, and the meeting altogether was a successful one, although it is to be regretted that the Mastertpn, Wellington, Lower Valley and Hutt members were not present in greater force; The Platform Farm is admirably suited for pigeon matches.
