Tm, next prize, a;set'of H'ea'trays, given by Mr Jrio.' Young; to then competed for by the ladies, , for the handsomest apron.. ( Tlie judges had rather a hard task, as there were several very handsome cand elaborate aprons worn, (bli the- decision was ultimately given in ..faypr of, Mrs P. O'Connor, who'-worr'a 1 beautifully worked yellow satin apron, trimmed with rich gold bullion lace. Mrs Tabiteau won the next prize for the moat handsome collar worn by a lady, and we were rather surprised that .there, was not greater competition. Tho last prize, a cabinet given by a lady, for tho handsomest hat worn by a lady, was easily won by Miss Hooper, who wore a magnificent hat, trimmed with ostrichfeathers,, Mr Wiokerson acted as gentlemen's prizes, Vail Mesdames Beard, IBoddington and. O'Connor for the ladies. At the conclusion Mr Oolier announced that' there would be a Children's Burlesque and Fancy j Dress Carnival next Friday, arid that prizes would be given for the most appropriately,dressed characters.
