Palmerston, Tuesday, A young man named Harrington was killed yesterday afternoon while buslifalling at Kairanga,- A falling rata treo struck liim'oii the head, inflicting injuries from which ho died while being carried home. The Alleged Robbery. Wellington, Tuesday. At the B.M. Court-the charge of robbery from .the person preferred against Arthur Moeller, who was remanded for tho production of the prosecutor, for whose attendance a warrant had been issued, was dismissed. The polico not having found the prosecutor, no evidence was forthcoining,
A Youthful Housebreaker. : _ Tijiaru, August 27. At the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning a lad of fourteen was remanded on charges of housebreaking aud horsestealing. He has admitted tho offences aud that lie-had been an inmate of an industrial'school, from which he bolted two years ago. He had since been swagging and knocking about, aud was lately in -the employ :6f a- farmer. at Makikihi. On Tuesday he broke into a house during- the absence of the owner and took away J58.0u Friday evening he rode away to Tirnaru on ono of his employers horses, turning it adrift on reaching town. He was arrested next day at the railway station ■while waiting for a train to continue his journey north. The young imitator of Johnatbau Roberts appears to be rathei proud of his achievement.
