t : In Black Bed; Game, .a lien over 12 months, ■-shown. by; : ,Mr .Wliite/ was a good stamp of the new .'style of breeding, and if a little, better'in'color would be fit■to show anywhere. ■' A ten months. old cock, J.' Billington, was the best in its class. ADuckwing Game Cock, A. White, \yas a good strong bird of anice color, and a hen by the same exhibitor would not disgrace herself in any show, and in the same class under 12 months, Mr Whito, showed, a nice style of bird "Sir- Harry," a good color, which shown in Ohristchurch and Wellington would have won a prize. The game birds, old English style, is a class quite out of date, aud the day has gone by for having them iu the schedule. Lot 81, entered as a silver grey Dorking, should have been in the coloured Dorking class, Two very nice silver grey Dorking hens were shown, the better one perhaps of the two unfortunately had its leg crippled. The first and second prize pullets were very nice birds. The Spanish cocks were a fair class aud the three prize takers iu bens were very nice birds. Lot 51, Andalusian cock, J. Williams wouU have taken a prize but for one impediment, it wae •■ duck-footed. The hens too a very good class, the first prize taker,. C. Perry, had a good comb and was beautifully marked. Cocks under 12 months in this class were good, the first prize, J Nicol was a good color and had good ears, The pullets in this class wore also commendable, the .first prize, A. Elkins' being a good color but might have had a better Bhapedcomh. Lot 75, J. Nicol was a very nice Minorca hen. In Houdau cocks over 12 months - there were a couple of fino exhibits, large, but somewhat deficient ■ in forest, whilst Lot 08, Houdan hen ovor 12 months, A Elkins' would, if she had a little more crest, be fit to show anywhere. Some very nice pullets were also shown by the same breeder. Some beautiful birds took prizes in Cinnamon or Buff Cochin Chinas, E. E. Bannister. They were perhaps a little small, but handsome in color, with fine cinnamon tails. _ Four splendid hens were also exhibited, the first iu particular being ■ exceptionally good, although it might have been a little better in color, which had ohanged with age. The birds under 12 months were poor. A Partridge Cochin cock over 12 months, S. E. Bannister, was a nice stamp of a bird and a grand color, and three hens were very. good. The first prize, B. E. Bannister, was a beautiful color but the second would have won but for the color which- showed a white fringe. The first prize cook, B. E. Bannister, was a splendid bird that will Bhow up' well next year, The Becoud prize, W. Vickerstaff, was too dark in color. .The first prize hen, W. G, King, was. a nice bird with plenty of feather but rather small. The dark Brahma -cocks over ; 12 months, W. G.King and J. The first prize, White Rook cook,M. Wilton -was a fine bird, but had lost some : of its tail feathers. The second, T. Cdrdue, was good, but rather small. The Golden Pencilled' Hamburgh Cocks were fair. The first prize hen, A, Ellrins, was a splendid bird, with fine large white deaf-ears. Lot 181, cock under. 12 months, was passed as being too old. The Golden Spangled Hamburghs were nice as a class, the first prize, 8 months, A. Elkins, being a neat little bird with good comb and nice ears, the second, J. Williams, and third, W.G. King, being also good. The Silver Spangled Hamburghs were, hot appreciated. They want fresh blood.-asthey are getting too dark, and their tails are' not well-marked. Lot 201, M. Wilton, was a nice cockerel, the only fault was that, the comb was too large.. The .'pullets were nice birds.. A. Elkins showed an 8 months ,■. Silver Pencilled Hamburgh cook, which deservedly took a first prize. The Wyandottes were a small select class.. There ■ was a = splendid collection of White Leghorns shown. I The first prize cockover,.l2 months, I F; J. The Brown Leghorn hens were ,a very nice '' class; the' second prize, S. H. Wiokorson, was considered, if anything, even better in color than the first. Three Brown Leghorn, cockerels, too, were a grand lot. There was a close shaye between the first prize, McKenzie and Bright, and the second, A., Elkins. In hens under 12 months there were no less than twelve entries, the first prize, A, Elkins, beinga remarkably nice bird. The Judge had great difficulty iu deciding in this class, The second prize, W. G. King, 7 months, was a nice little bird, with* a beautiful comb but a littlo off in color; and the third, McKenzie and Bright, was not far behind in merit. Two good pens of Aylesbury Ducks were shown. There were six entries in Bouen Ducks, but they were not, considered extra good as a lot, being inferior in size to those shown in Wellington recently. Two good pens of Pekin Ducks wore shown by F. Whiting.. T. Ray took first and second prize for goose and gander, which were splendid specimens of the Toulouse variety. In Turkeys, first and third prizes were taken by W, H, Hosking' for two pens of splendid .large American Bronze, and the second prize-takers, A. Flkins, wore of ( the same breed, The principal prizes in pigeons were taken by Mr A. Elkins, one exhibit, a long-faced, swallow-throated blue-beard hen, was a' remarkably jßnb specimen, lii Canaries, two exhibits, by Mr 0, Simmonds were especially worthy of remark.

1 "Forexhibition' only, Mr Breuiner. showed a cage of singing birds, which" draw-forth general admiration.: In addition to canaries, it contained gold and green-finches, a grey linnet, and a mskin, the latter being a very rare bird in New Zoalarid. Two Incubators' were shown by Messrs T. Dixon and 0. Anketell, the latter being the improved "Certainty." : Great praise is due to the Committee and Secretary for the able manner in whioh the Exhibition was managed, and for their attention to the requirements of the exhibitors and the public generally. Our thanks are also especially due to. the judges for the couriesy.extended to our reporter.
