TO THE EDITOR, Sir,—Will you kindly insort these few lines in your widely circulated paper for tho benefit of whoever it may conconi, I havo a child who lias been afflicted with on obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than Boven years, When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the face about the size of a pill's head. Of course a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head wero one dark brown crust of sores, Then it spread to the body, chest, back,joints,and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared tobe of no uso, but often, made him worse. In despair I looked upon the doctors as useless beings of tho community. On the 17th September last the child was shown to Dr Speer, now residing iu WolliM'ton. On looking at linn for a minute or two he struck at the root of tlio disease at once, as a man of great skill can do. After tlio tint five days' treatment; small stripes of healthy skin became visible; in loss than a month tho face was clean two months a wonderful improvement on tho body. After four months treatment thore only remains a few marks on the legs and wrists. Tho child is still under Dr Spoor's care, as ho declares It will take some time yet to entirely removo it from his system. It must also not bo forgotten to add that the medicines havb not had the least unpleasant effect on tho internal organs, which always was tho case in previous treatments. It mado its appcarauco in tho shape of pimples, which rapidly spread over tho wholn body, and soon affected my health so aoriously that I grew to ho a confirmed invalid, Naturally, 1 sousrht professional aid, going to tho best medical men in Wellington. I was treated by two of thorn in succession, but without any result to myself except the loss oi a considerable sum of monoy. This progress continued, as day after day the legs got better, and 1 am now ablo to carry out my design of visiting Europe, leaving to-day by the Ruapohu. 1 am fully satisfied that by tho timo 1 reach my destination I will bo quite restored. lam glad to bo. able to givo this testimony as to your ability to treat diseases of the skin, and w 11 add, in conclusion, that your clump for treating mo was very moderate.
