Taratahi-Carterton Road Board.
The: ordinary monthly meeting of the Board to held "on Saturday, Presentr-Messrs H.E, Bunny, (Chairman), H. Braithwaite, N. Grace, W. Parker, E. W. Dorsett, E. Morgau, J. Raynor, W. B, Allon, and J. Stevens. The minutes of. the previous meeting were confirmed." Correspondence—from Mr Driscoll asking that some slabs be removed from liis road. Resolved that Mr Darriclc have instructions to see to it under the direction of the Warden, From Mr Riley asking tlio Board to give him a road to las property at Belvedere. The matter was left in the hands of the warden, From Mr Strong re the bad state of the Gladstone- U'ainuioru road, Left to the Warden, From the contractor for fencing Cornwall Eoad asking that he be remunerated for his loss in connection with the work. Resolved that no remuneration be allowed. From settlers at Matarawa re the state of Moffatt's road. The Warden stated that the matter had been seen to. From Mr Chennclh re a hole in the culvert near Mr Wyeth's at the Taratahi, stating that thohorso he was riding put its foot into the hole while he was riding along tl(e road aud the animal became lamed and he asked tlio Board tocompensate him for the damage done to tlio animal Ordered to be laid on the table. From A. Stevens re payment for his contract at the. East Taratahi. Resolved that tlio money be not paid until the work is done according to specifications. The Clerk read the agreement which he had drafted in reference to the gift of land from Messrs Mauusoll and Cadwallader for a road, The agreement as read was approved, Mr Welch re bushfelling, Left in the hands of the Warden, L. Nix asking that tenders be called for fencing tlio road running through his land. The application was acceded to. Tenders woro opened for two contracts on Perry's road, wlion Cephas and Monaghan's for 50 chains of formation and metalling at 8s Sdper chain was accepted, and H. R. Burgess for 58 chains at 5s 9d per chain. Sorno accounts were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
