I have a child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for moro than seven years. When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the face about the 8b of a pill's head. Of courso a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until fnco and head were ono dark brown crust of sores, Then it spread to the body, chest, back,joints,and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared tobe of no use, but often, made him worso. In despair I looked upon tho doctors as useless beings of the coinmunity. On tho 17th September last tho child was shown to Dr Speer, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a ininuto or two ho struck at the root of the disease at onco, as a man of great skill can do, After the first five days' treatment; small stripes of healthy skin became visible; in less than a month tho face was clean two months a wonderful improvement on tho body. After four mouths treatment tlioro only remains a few marks oil tho legs aud wrists. Tho child is still under Dr Spcer'a caro, as lie declares It will take some timo yet to entirely remove it from his system. It mado its appcaranco in the shape of pimples, which rapidly spread over tho wholo body, and soon affected my health so seriously that I grew to ho a confirmed invalid. Naturally, 1 sought professional aid, going to the best medical men in Wellington. I was treated by two of them in succession, but without any result to myself except the loss of a considerable sum of inonoy. This progress continued, as day after day the legs got belter, aud 1 am now able to carry out my design of visiting Europe, leaving to-day by the Ruapehu, 1 am fully satisfied that by tho time I reach my destination I will be quito restored, lam glad to bo. able to give this testimony as to your ability to treat diseases of tlw skin, and w 11 add, iu conclusion, that yout charge for treating mo waß vory moderate.
