PAHIATUA.

(From a Correspondent),

I mentioned in my last letter that a Mr Bridge had purchased a considerable area of land at the Mangaone, and that in all probability he would decide to fall Borne of it, I have now to announce that tenders.have been called for felling about 800 acres iu sections. A good show this time for bushfallers.'

The Pabiatua County Bill is now through nil its stages in both Houses, and will como into operation on the Ist clay of October next. In all probability the Road Board will be merged into the County, aud the whole district worked under the one governing body, town board excepted. This will siin- ' plify matters greatly. The Examiner suggests that the Pabiatua people should hnvo a glorification, and that Hosts Stewart and Crewe should fork out champagne course the Examiner will go into mourning over the event,

The Rev. Mr Paige of your town paid us a visit during the latter part of last week, and preached here both morning aud evening on Sunday Jast. I hear that MessrsJas. Elliott and Co,, saddlers and harness makers, of Masterton, are going to open rip business here. I have no doubt they will do a fair trade. Lately' there has been a want felt in this direction, all saddle andharness repairs, &c, having to be sent to Woodville, a distance of ten miles. v -
