TO THE EDITOR, Sib,—Will you kindly insert theso few lines in your widely circulatedpaper for the benefit of whoever it may concern, j I have a child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than sevon years, When six weeks old,, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the face about the size of a pin's head. Of course a medical man wan applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head wcro one dark brown crust of sores. Then it spread to the body, chest, back, jointß,and all fleshy parts, Medical skill appeared to bo of no use, but often, made him worso. In despair I looked upon tho doctors as useless beings of the community. On the 17th Soptember last the child was shown to Dr Speer, now residing in Wellinpton, On looking at him for a : ininuto or two ho struck at the root of the disease at onco, as a man of great skill can do, After the first five days' treatment; small stripes of healthy skin became visible ; in less than a month the face was clean two months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months treatmunt there only remains a few marks on the legs and wrists. Tho child is still under Dr Speer'a caro, as he declares It will take some time yet to entirely removo it from, his system. It must also not bo forgotten.to add that the medicines havo not had the least unpleasant effect on the internal organs, which always was the case in previous treatments. So I can confidently advise anyone who should be so unfortunate as to requiro medical aid to call on Dr Spoor for advico. I am &c, A. ANDERSON. Johnsonville, 23rd January, 1888. I will willingly give any f urthor information to any person who will either call or address me at Jolmsonvillo, Phone, 14th May, 1888, TO DR SPEER. Dear Sir,—lt is now about soven years since 1 was first attacked with a bad form of akin disease. It made its appoaranco in tho shape of pimples, which rapidly spread over the whole body, nnd soon affected my health so seriously that I grew to be a confirmed invalid. Naturally, 1 sought professional aid, froiug to the best medical men in Wellington, I was treated by two of thorn in succession, but without any result to myself except tho loss ot a considerable sum of monoy. At tho end of tho year I found that 1 was not in the least improved j indeed, one of these gentlemen told mo candidly that everything possible had been dono for me, and that I need nut hope to be cured, 1 then consulted a Wellington specialist, and paid him ngood fee for a euro, but with oxactly the Bame result—no change for the bettor. As a last resnurco 1 applied to you about three months ago, and put myself under your hands. lam glad to be able to say that from tlio first I received great benefit; my health commenced to improve, my appetite also returned, and in a short time the disease itself showed unmißtakcablo signs of giving way to the treatment, and now, after havii.g been three months undor your care, I can faithfully and thankfully report myself quite recovered, My health also is compeltely restored, and I fed now as 1 havo not done for many years. Ab a token of my gratitude to you for so successfully treating mo at a time when I had lost all lmpes of being cured, I give yon this testimony, which you are at liberty to make public should you so desire it. I will also give information respecting the casetoanyono who may apply to mo for the same JOHN DOCHERTY. TO DK. SPEER, Wellington, 3rd May, 1888.; SIR,-For a consideraole time past I havo been a great sufferer from skin disease in my legs, extending from the kneo to the foot. Not only was the skin bad, but the flesh in a Bhort time became seriously affected, and largo angry ulcers made their appearance. My legs gred worse and worse, until I was finally obliged to knock off work and Beck relief from some medical man in -Wellington. _ On my arrival here I noticed in tho papers the completo cure of Mrs Anderson's little son, and I at once applied to you, and placed myself uudor your caro, feeling certain of being ti Now, or within one month of my commencing treatment, lam glad to be cur to say that my expectationa are being fully realised. I contracted this diseasablo ing my occupation as a miner, through remaining two long in the water. It fio dur de its appearance in Bmall pimples, gradually increasing and oxtonding overrst ma# from the knee downward. The eruption was accompanied by mtoHerable itching. Aftor the first week's treatment largo patches of sound skin began to show, These increased in sizo and were healthy m appearance, tho sores and ulcers at the same timo decreasing in a very m.irked manner. This progress continued, as day after day the legs got better, and 1 am now ablo to carry out my design of visiting Europe, leaving to-day by the Ruapehu. 1 am fully satisfied that by the time 1 reach my destination 1 will bo quite restored. lam glad to bo.-ablo to give this testimony as to your ability to treat diseases of the skin, and wll add, in conclusion, that your charge for treating mo was very moderate. Yours Faithfully, CHARLES JOHN SMITH. TO DR SPEER. Dkaii Sir—l am very pleased to be able to report that my little soni about om I consulted you a month sinco, is now completely cured, The boy is live years of age, and at the timo I called to see you was suffering from what appoared to be a bad form of skin disease in his legs, On receiving assurance that you would euro him speedily, I put him under your treatmont, and I am glad to saythat you were thoroughly successful, the euro having been effected in a shorter time even than 1 led to anticipate. Tho medicine you gave was easily taken, and thoroughly a wit hthe ohild, This testimony is duo to you, not only for tho successful treatmen of the case, but also for the barely nominal charge you made me, Yours truly, MRS ROBERTS.
