A FEW AMONGST MAN If TESTIMONIALS. TO THE EDITOR, Sik,—Will you kindly insert these few lines in your widely circulated paper for the benefit of whoever it may concorn. I have a child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a most itching nature for more than seven years, When sLx weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in tho face about the size of a pin's head. Of course a medical man was applied to, but it steadily increased until faco arid head were ono dark brown crust of sores, Then it spread to the body, chest, back, joints, and all fleshy parts. Medical skill appeared tube of no use, but often, made him worse. In despair 1 looked upon tho doctors as useless beings of the community. On the 17th September last tho child was shown to Dr Speer, now residing ill Wollinyton. On looking at linn for a minute or two he struck at tho rooc of tho disease at once, as a man of great skill can do, After tho lirst fivo days' treatment; small stripes of healthy skin became visible; in less than n month the face was clean two months a wonderful improvement on tho body, After four months treatment thero only remains a fow marks 011 tho legs and wrists. Tho child is still under Dr Spcer's care, as ho declares It will tako some time yet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also not be forgotten to add that the medicines have not had the least unpleasant effect on tlio internal organs, which nltrays was tho wise m previous treatments. So I can confidently advise anyone who should bo so unfortunate as to require medial aid to call on Dr Spcor for advice. lamik, A, ANDERSON. JoiiNfioNYiUiE, 23rd January, 1888. I will willingly give any further information to any person who will either call or address me at Johnsonville,
Pbiohk, MtliMay, 1888, TO DRSPEER. Dear Sin, —It is now about seven years smco 1 was first attacked with a bad form of skin disease. It mado its appcaranco in tlio shape of pimples, which rapidly spread over tlio wliolo body, and soon affected my health so seriously that I grew to bo a confirmed invalid, Naturally, 1 sought professional aid, ffoing to the best medical men in Wellington, 1 was treated by two of them in succession, but without any result to myself except tlio loss of a considerable sum of nionoy, At the ond of the year I found that 1 was not in tlio least improved ; indeed, one of these gentlemen told uiu candidly that everything possible had been doue for wo, and that I need not hope to bo cured, 1 then consulted a Wellington specialist, and paid liini a good fco for a euro, but with exactly the samo result—no change for tlio better, As a last resource I applied to you about three months ago, and put myself undor your hands. lam glad to be ablo to say that from tlio first I received great benefit; my health commenced to improve, my appetite also returned, and in a ehort time the disease itself showed unmistakeable signs of giving way to tho treatment, and now, after having been three months under your care, 1 can faithfully and tfiaukfully report myself quite recovered, My health also is coinpoltcly restored, and I feel now as 1 have not dono for many years. As a token of my gratitude to you for so successfully treating mo at a time when I had lost all hopes of being cured, I give you this testimony, which you are at liberty to make public should you so desire it. I will also give information respecting tho case to anyone who may apply to 1110 for the same, JOHN DOOHERTY. TO DR. SPEER, Wellington, 3rd May, 1888. SIR,—For a considerate time past I hnvo been a great sufferer from skin diseaso in my legs, extending from the kuee to tho foot, Not only was the skin bad, but tlio ileah in a short time became seriously affected, and largo angry ulcers made their ap-_ pcaranco. My legs grcd worse and worse, until I was finally obliged to knock off work and seek relief from some medical man in Wellington. On my arrival here I noticed in tho papers the complete euro of Mrs Anderson's little son, and 1 at onco applied to you, and placed mysolf under your care, feeling certain of being cured. Now, or within ono month of my commencing treatment, I ain glad to bo able to say that aro being fully realised, 1 contracted tins diseaso during my occupation as a miner, through remaining two long in tho water. It first made its appearanco in small pimples, gradually increasing and oxtending over uu gs from tho knee downward. Tho eruption was accompanied by mtollerable liing, After the first week's treatinonb large patches of sound skin began to show, These increased in size and wcro healthy 111 appearance, the sores and ulcers at the same timo decreasing in a very marked mauuer. This progress contiuued, as day after day the legs got better, and 1 am now ablo to carry out my design of visiting Europe, leaving to-day by tho Ruapehu. 1 am fully satisfied that by the tiino 1 reach my destination 1 will bo quite restored. lam glad to bo. able to givo this testimony as to your ability to treat diseases of tlio skm, and w 11 add, in conclusion, tlmt your cliargo for treating mo was very moderate. Yours Faithfully, CHARLES JOHN SMITH, TO DRSPEER. Deau Sir—l am very pleased to be able to report that my little som about whom 1 consulted you ft month sinco, is now completely curod, Tho boy is livo yoara of a n o, and at tho timo I called to see you was suffering from what appeared to be a bad form of skin diseaso in his legs. On receiving assurance that you would euro him speedily, I put hun under your treatment, and 1 am plad to say that you wero thoroughly successful, the euro having been effecte d in a shortor time ovori than 1 was led to anticipate. Tho medicine you gave was easily taken, and thoroughly agreed with the child. This testimony is due to you, not only for tho successful treatment of tlso case, but also for tho barely nominal charge you mado mo; Yours truly, • MRS ROBOTS,
