Consecration Ceremony.
Christchurcii, Monday, The Ml, Magdala Asylum for fallen women was consecrated yesterday by Bishop Grimes, over 2,000 people were present. The collection realised about £2OO in cash besides promises. Tliero are now 20 penitents in the Asylum.
Wellington, Monday, The Commissioner ofl'olicebas received a telegram from Mr McGovora stating there is no fear of any further fighting, Tauerau promised lie would do nothing if tho survey was not interfered with, and ho was told whether it was impeded or not lie must take no action under pain ol being held responsible, Here said ho would keep quiet unless attajked in bis pah, Two of the dead have been buried. Tho two wounded are seriously injured, and are not expected to recover. The Government have taken no steps in the matter bo far, probably tie case will be treated as one of manslaughter,
