Masterton Hospital.

The Monthly moetiug of tho Mnstcrton Hospital Trustees was held on Thursday last. Present—Messrs J. 0. Boddinsjton (Chairman) W. H. Beotham,' B. P. Perry, Joseph lorns, J. B, Koith and Rev. W. E. Pai»o. The minutes of the provious meeting wero read and continued.

The Treasurer reported—Receipts: Exhibition Committee sllos, Mrs Cootc, England £7 10s, Messrs J, and H, Holmes £2 lOa, box placed in tho Hospital mono of tho Wards, since July Ist, £1 other subscriptions,.£23 15a lid, Liabilities wpre outstanding which would absorb the whole amount.

Resolved that a cordial vote of thanks be accorded to tho Exhibition Committee for their exertions in providing funds for the Hospital and that a lottor convoying samo bo sent to tho Chainnan. A letter was road from Messrs J. and H, Holmes forwarding a cheque for £lO on behalf of Mrs Cuoto and themselves, as reported by Treasurer,

Bosolvcd that a vote of thanks bo conveyed to Messrs Holmes for their donation and thoy : bo asked to forward tho same to Mrs Cootc. Tho Hospital dairy was read to the meetiug, and the Secretary was instructed to see that a'l linen, and clothing belonging to the institution was branded. 'I ho Trustees, who had visited tho Hospital since last meeting, expressed their satisfaction at tho improved condition of the Institution and surroundings since Juno tho first, when tho present custodian was placed in charge. Tho Secretary explained that the man Gurotte, who was referred to at tho last meeting, had interviewed him with reference to his account, and tho Trustees decided to give him an extension of time to pay it; the man Murphy had left tho Hospital without paying his account, although he had received exceptionally good treatment, requiring ipecial food to bo procured for him at a considerable cost, and it was reported ho was quite able to pay the amount. The Secretary was instructed to tako what steps ho considered necessary to enforce payment, The following amounts wore passed for payment :-W Perry, £2l9s 3d; L W Nicholson, £1 9s; F. W. Temple, £9 15s; T.U Mason, £ll ss9d.

The visiting member for the month was asked to ascertain tho cost of ploughing, raking, and putting tho ground in proper order. Mr B P Perry was appointed visiting member and the meeting olosod,
