A suspicious death is reported to the police as having occurred at Botaney, and is now under investigation, A wan named Collins died oil Sunday, and the doctor who was called in expressed an opinion that death was caused by some irritant poison, Mrs Collin's first husband, a man named Andrews, died 13 mouths ago, His wife married Collins a few days later. Tlte doctors m both oases were puzzled by the symptoms, and upon comparing notes are of llie opinion that both deaths were attended by similar suspicious circumstances. Andrews, the first husband, had his life insured. An inquest was commenced to-day, but adjourned for an analysis of the stomach,

Tho brig Kestless, from Sydney, which was disabled during a heavy gale, lias arrived safely, The master reports that the force of tho hurricane strained the vessel, causing her to leak badly. Subsequently the vessel was thrown on her beam ends,, and tho masts had to be cut away to save her. At onotime there were Bft of water in the bold, and the brig was only kept afloat by tho crew working continuously at the pumps.
