FATAL ACCIDENT.

The V sad occuitence has cast quito a gloom over this district district whore ho lias left many relations and friends, . Deceased was bom in Now Zealand about 18!' l. His father, ono of the - earliest settlers, was Provincial District Auditor under tho Provincial Government. Deceased was married some 20 years ago to tho third daughter of Mr Alfred W. Eeiiall. He leaves a widow • and six children to mourn their loss. Deceased in his day was a noted horseman and celebrate:! steeplechase rider. He Ims had many N narrow escapes, at one time having had a leg broken in the wheel of a bullock dray On another occasion whilst attempting to cutcli a horse, he received a severe kick, which stretched him insensible for some hours.
