WAIRARAPA EXHIBITION.
Hospital Day. The fourth and last day of the Exhibition was devoted to the benefit of the Mastcrton Hospital, and will add about £2O to their funds, in addition to a Government subsidy for a similar amount. The music and sinking was duly appreciated by the audience, tlio following programme beieg gone through Overture, Pearson's Band; Glee, Choir; Song, Mr Gaskill (encored); Song, Miss Bowler; Song, Mr 11, R. 0. Coleman (encored); Pianoforte duet, Misses F and A Frcetli; Song, Miss Turner (encored); Song, Mr Wickcrson; Selection, Keisenberg's String Baud; Selection, Volunteer Band; Glee, Choir; Song, Mr 'L' Rowse (encored) j Song, Mrs Redman; Song, Mr Kennedy (encored); Song, Miss Lowe? (encored); Song, Mr Rowe (encored); Chorus, Choir; Finale, Pearson's Band. During the evening tlio Rov. W. Rowse took the opportunity to thank all those who had assisted to make the Exhibition a success-the exhibitors and visitors, the Volunteers and Bands, the choir and musicians, the ladies and the committee, the Traffic Manager (Mr Dawson), the Station Master (Mr Cockburn), the police, and all and sundry who had lent a helping hand. A vote ef thanks was carried by acclamation. The speaker alluded in very graceful terras to SirGeoreo Grey and Mr George Beetham, and his remarks were endorsed by the audience with cheers. Ho hoped one result of the Exhibition would be the breaking down of barriers and the working together for their common interest as fellow colonists (cheers), and make them more neighborly and friendly in future (renewed cheers). This was their first exhibition, and was no mean one; it was for them to try and see what improvements oould be made at the noxfc one (cheerß). Mr Thos, Mackay, the Chairman, referred to the Secretary, MrR. Hornblow, whose sieal and energy had contributed so largely to the suocess of the Exhibition. He called for three cheers for him, which was heartily responded to.
Mr Hornblow returned thanks in suitable terms. A vote of thanks to the Chairman was passed, and the Exhibition terminated with the National Anthem by the Band.
