TO THE EDITOR, Sin,—Will you kindly insert these few lines in your widely circulated paper for the benefit of whoever it may concern. I have a child who has been afflicted with an obstinate skin disease of a must itching nature for more tlian seven years, When six weeks old, or thereabouts, small reddish spots appeared in the face about the size (if a pin's head. Of course a medical man' was applied to, but it steadily increased until face and head were one dark brown crust of sores, Then it spread to the body, chest, back, joints, and all ileshy parts, Medical skill appeared to be of no use, but often, made him worse, In despair 1 looked upon the doctors as useless beings of the community. On the 17th September last the child was shown to Dr Spoor, now residing in Wellington. On looking at him for a minute or two he struck at the root of the disease at once, as a man of great skill can do. After the lirst live clays' treatment; small stripes of healthy skin became visible; in less than a mouth the face was clean two months a wonderful improvement on the body. After four months treatment there only remains a few marks on the legs and wrists. The child is still under Dr Speer'a care, as he declares It will take some time yet to entirely remove it from his system. It must also not be forgotten to add that the medicines have not had tho least unpleasant effect on the internal organs, which always was the case in previous treatments. So I can confidently advise anyone who should bo so unfortunate as to require medical aid to call on Dr Spccr for advice, lam &c,, A. ANDERSON. JoiiN.soM'iiAß, 2urd January, 1888. I will willingly give aiiy further information to any person who will either call or address me at Johnson ville, pETONii, 14th Muv, 1888, TO DR SPEER, Deak Sin,—lt in now about seven years since 1 was lirst attacked with a bad form of skin disease. It made its appearanco in the shapo of pimples, which rapidly spread over the whole body, and soon affected my health so seriously that 1 grew to be a confirmed invalid. Naturally, 1 soui'ht professional aid, going to the best medical men in Wellington. 1 was treated by two of them in succession, but without any result to myself except the loss of a considerable sum of money. At the end of tho year 1 found that 1 was not in the least improved ; indeed, one of these gentlemen told tno candidly that everything possible liad been done for me, and that I need not hope to be cured, 1 thon consulted a Wellington specialist, and paid him a !;ood fee for a cure, but with exactly the same result—no change for the better, As a last resource 1 applied to you about three months ago, and put myself under your hands, lam glad to be able to say that from the lirst I received great benefit; my health commenced to improve, my appetite also returned, and in a short time the disease itself showed unmistakeable signs of giving way to the treatment, and now, after having been three months under your care, 1 can faithfully and thankfully report myself quite recovered, My health also is cumpeltely restored, and 1 feel now as 1 have not done for many years. As a token of my gratitude to you for so successfully treating mo at a time when I had lost all hopes of being cured, I give you this testimony, which you are at liberty to make public should you so desire it. I will also give information respecting the ease to anyone who may apply to me for tho same, •JOHN DOCIIEIvTY. TO Dll. SPEER, Wellington, old May, 1888. SIR,-For a considerable time past 1 have been a great sufferer from skin disease in my legs, extending l'roui the knee to the foot. Not only was the skin bad, but the flesh in a short time became seriously affected, and large angry ulcers made their appearance. My legs gred worse and worse, until 1 was finally obliged to knock off work and seek relief from some medical man in Wellington, On my arrival hero I noticed in tho papers the complete cure of Mrs Anderson's little son, and 1 at onco applied to you, and placed myself under your care, feeling certain of beinjf cured. Now, or within one month of my commencing treatment, lam glad to be able to say that my expectations are being fully realised, I contracted this disease during my occupation as a miner, through remaining two long in the water. It iirst made its appearance in small pimples, gradually increasing and extending over the legs from the knee downward. The eruption was accompanied by mtolierable itching, After the lirst neck's treatment large patches of sound skin beym to show, These increased in size and were healthy in appearance, the sores and ulcers at the same time decreasing in a very marked manner. This progress continued, as day after day the legs got better, and I am now able to carry out my design of visiting Europe, leaving to-day by the Ruapehu. 1 am fully satisfied that by the time 1 reach my destination I will be quite restored. lam glad to be able to give this testimony as to your ability to treat diseases of tho skill, and will add, in conclusion, that your char«c for treating me was very moderate. Yours Faithfully, CHARLES JOHN SMITH, TO Dll SPEER. Deaii Sill—l am very pleased to be able to report that my little son, about whom I consulted you a month since, is now completely cured. The boy is live years of ago, and at the time 1 called to sec you was suffering from what appeared to be a bad form of skin disease in his legs. On receiving assurance that you would cure him speedily, I put lnm under your treatment, and 1 am t'lad to say that you were thoroughly successful, the cure having been effected in a shorter time eveu than I was led to anticipate, The medicine you gave was easily taken, and thoroughly agreed with tho child. This testimony is due to you, not only for the successful treatment of the case, but also for the barely nominal charge you made inc. Yours truly, MRS ROBERTS.
