WAIRARAPA EXHIBITION

Judging from tlio number of exhibits promised and the assistance so freely accorded the Committee, the Wairarapa Exhibition to be opened on Thursday next at the Drill Hall, Mas terton, should prove a complete success. On the arrival of the midday train on the opening day a reception Committee, consisting of Messrs S. von Stunner, A. W. Benall, M, Caselberg, W. 11, Beetlmm, T. Mackny, W. Lowes, E. Feist, B. P. Perry, and W. T. Grundy, The Eevs. Paige, Eulton, McKenna, and Bouse, and the Secretary, Mr E. Hornblow, will meet Sir George Grey at the Station. An address of welcome will be read by the Chairman of the Committee the Eov. Mr Bouse and presented to Sir George Grey. The company will then proceed to the Temperance Hall, where they will be invited to partake of the luncheon provided at the expense of the ladies of Masterton. After justice has been fully done to the good things provided, an adjournment will be made to the Drill Hall, where the business of' the day, the opening of the Exhibition, will be completed by Sir George Grey and Mr G. Beetham in the presence of representatives from all parts of the Wairarapa and Wellington, The Masterton Volunteers will talie part in the reception of Sir George Grey and march back from the station with the visitors, accompanied by their highly efficient band, which will play during their progress to the Hall. As nearly as possible the Exhibition will be opened at half-past one o'clock, and continue open till half-past five o'clock. It will be open again throughout the evening. A half holiday has been granted by the Mayor, and special trains will run at excursion rates to suit visitors from all parts of the Wairarapa. A promenade concert will take place each evening, commencing at eight o'clock, when a varied selection of choruses, glees, quartettes, and solos will be rendered by the exhibition choir, The Volunteer, Pearson's Private, and Philharmonic bands will assist to make the exhibition a success,
