Invercabgill, June 14,

Invercargill has now a temporary water supply at a pressure of 251b, the reticulation of the town, 24 miles, being complete, Arrangements have been made by which the water from the well is thrown into tanks by a pulsometer and gravitates through the streets. It is expected that the permanent pumps and engines will be erected within three months, when the direct pressure will be applied to the mains on the modified Holly system.

The accident to the overland coach occurred four miles on the Christchurch side of the Bealey. On coming up a siding at Waimakariri the coach encountered a laud slip, when the horses plunged and broke the king bolt and went over the bank. They are not badly injured. Mr Cassidy, the driver, was shaken, but not hurt seriously. Eventually lie took the coach on to the Bealey, where lie now awaits a coach from this side.
