DR A. W. CHASE'S LAST RECEIPT BOOK AND FAMILY PHYSICIAN.

rnIIERE are Receipt Books without J_ number, but. many have found to their cost that the formulus laid down in the majority of them are in many cases either impracticable, or the results achieved ty following the directions given are anything but satisfactory, Such, however, cannot be said of Dr Chase's Receipt books and I'amily Physician. Probably no author ever lived whose works are in so groat a demand as Dr Chase's. He has had over lifty years of his life to the c,ireful observation and test of practical recipes, as given in the three editioiisofhisworkl-renoivnedworks, - The result has been that one million and a half of tliem have already boon sold, and Dr Chase's name lias now become a household word in millions of homes as one of the greatest benefactors of mankind that ever lived.

His last and memorial edition was only completed two months before the " good old doctor" passed away, deeply regretted by all who knew him, cither personally or by his works.

This last edition should receive a hearty welcome in every New Zealand family, While containing information for all, it is specially adapted to the wants of young wives and mothers, who by consulting its contents and following their guidance will find their household cares and material anxieties inlinitely relieved.

A mere glance at the contents of the work shows at once that instead of the .book being gotten up to sell, the publishers believe in giving as much as it is possible for the money. Notwithstanding that they paid to the heirs of the late doctor 10,000 dollars for the copyright, the enormous sales and subscribers dealing direct with their representatives allows it to be sold at a small advance on cost.

It is bound in oilcloth, contains over 800 closely-printed pages, in which are nearly 3000 prescriptions and recipes. A treatise on the diseases of women and children, the care and nursing of the sick, the symptoms and 917 prescriptions for all kinds of diseases, 805 cooking recipes, 1,250 stock doctorimr, mechanical, and other recipes, all of which are of the most reliable nature, procured by lifty years' experience of one of the most noted physicians America has over produced, N,B,—Although the price of this work is only 15/-, it contains as much material and more information than any of the other books sold at double the price, Orders are now being takc-u in Masterton by the firm's representative, Mil ftlAiim, who will be pleased to give any information regarding it. 2!)15
