Among those saved from the Dutch emigrant ship, the \V. A. Scholten, wMck was lost off Dover in November ligfwas Miss Gold. She acted with great fortitudo at the time of the sink-
ing of the vessel, and begged the few English people on board to join hands and die together. A few days since, Miss Gold whs married at Winchelsea, Sussex, to Mr T. Mitchell, of Van Buren, Bonaparte, U.S. Mr Mitchell is a farmer, and, having determined to marry, advertised for a wife in England. Amongst those who applied was Miss Gold, and, her portrait having been approved, sbo was proceeding to America to marry the advertiser. Keferences had been exchanged, but neither party had seen the other. After the catastrophe in the Channel,
Mr Mitchell journeyed to England, •■yjfljhd,. as stated above, the marriage ceremony was performed at Winchelsea a few days ago,
