Wairarapa Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society.
The annual meeting of the abwwas held at the Club' Hotel, Masterton, last evening, and was fairly attended. Mr L, J. Hooper in the chair. The minutes of the' last meeting were read and confirmed, and the balance sheet was adopted. The latter showed the Society to be in a good financial position. The receipts for the year amounted to J662 12s, expenditure £55 2s 9s, leaving a balance to credit of £7 9s 3d, The principal item of expenditure was prizes £Bl lis, while the hire of show pens from the Wellington Sooiety amounted to £8 8s lOd. The following officers were tk4u. eleoted for the ensuing year: His Worship the Mayor, Mr A. W. fienall; President, MrH. H.Beetham, (re-elected); YicePresidents, Dr Hosking, Messrs H. R. Bunny, B. Boys, A. A. Elkins, and P, G. Moore; Committee,. Messrs 0. Anketell, R. BrighUGreytown), J. Billington, T. Dixon®. J. Fitton, L. J. Hooper, W. G/King (Carterton),Troutan, S: H. ;\Vickerson, A. A. White, J. Williams, and M. Wilton; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. McKenzie, It was, decided that at the forthcoming show birds should be shown singly in all olasses the committee thought desirable. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Elkins, Hooper, White, Dixon, and the Secretary, was appointed to draw up prize schedule and report ; the same committee also to arrange re show pens. It was resolved that entry fees he 2s Gd for members and 8s Gd for lion members, to include cost of show pen. That the fixing of date of show be in the hands of the committee, | it was suggested should be a week 1 after the Wellington show. That a member's ticket admit member and one ' lady. That the Committee arrange re ' judges, The meeting then adjourned.
