The Masterton Exhibition.
A general meeting was held last evening in the Weslcyan Schoolroom for the purpose of making arrangements for the successful carrying out of the proposed exhibition in aid of the funds of the Wesleyan Church. There was a large attendance, representing members of various dewininations. The Rev. W. Rowse, to was voted to the clnir, briefly referred to the object for which the meeting had been called, and took occasion to thank the members of other congregations for their preferred assistance to make the exhibition a success by sending works of art, models, curios, k. Mr R, Homblow, who was ou|flf'the first to initiate the undertakiiplwas then called upon to read the names of those persons who had promised to contribute exhibits.' The list comprised over ninety ladies and gentlemen from all parts of the Wairarapa, and also from Wellington and other more distant places. The preliminary steps already taken were endorsed, and thefollowing appointments were made: —Secretary, Mr R. Hornblow; assistant secretary, Mr A. M. Bradbury, Chairman of Committees and convener, Rev. % Rowse; Treasurer, Mr R. M. Galloway. A large and influential general committee was appointed, with power to add to their number. It was arranged toxoid the exhibition on the 21st and June. On the suggestion of Mr B. P. Perry, it was decided that a committee of ladies be appointed to assist, and that the Chairman convene a meeting next week for that purpose. The meeting then adjourned till Monday evening. next.
