PUBLIC NOTICE, IT is hereby publicly notified that a declaration has been made, and duly lodped with mo, the undersigned Resident Magistrate, by six Electors and Ratepayers of the Masterton Road Board District, wherein, it is declared that the poll taken on the 2Gth day of April, 1888, under the provisions of "Tlio Local Bodies Loans Act, 1880," on a proposal to raise a loan of eight hundred pounds for making a road in the Rangitumau Block, the payment of which is to be provided for by means of an interest and sinking fund —raised by a special rate to be levied on a portion of the Masterton Road Board District, is void on tlio ground that certain irregularities meutioned in the said declaration which occurred in the proceedings taken on the proposal to raise such loan, tended to defeat the fairness of the pell so taken as aforesaid. And it is hereby further notified that it is my intention to hold an inquiry into tlie matter alleged in the said petition, on MONDAY, the 21st day of May, 1888, at two o'clock in the afternoon, at the Resident Magistrate's Courthouse, Masterton, at which time and place all persons concerned in the said inquiry aro required to be in attendance. A copy of the said petition may be seen at the Resident Magistrate's Office, Masterton, or at the Office of the Masterton Road Board, Masterton. Dated this 11th day of May, 1888.
